Friends, family and a grateful community will commemorate the life of Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo two years after he was killed in a gun fight with a suspect.
There will be a community unveiling today for a mural painted in honor of Sgt. Tuozzolo on the side of the 43rd Precinct, where he was stationed.
On Nov. 4, 2016, Sgt. Tuozzolo was responding to calls that Manuel Rosales was armed and attempting to break into his estranged wife's home.
Sgt. Tuozzolo spotted Rosales in a Jeep and when they attempted to approach him, police say Rosales opened fire, shooting Tuozzolo in the head.
Rosales was also killed in that shootout.
