New gun free zone regulations are now officially in effect throughout the state and city.

Places like Time Square, bars, restaurants and houses of worship have been designated as sensitive locations, meaning guns are not permitted even for those who carry permits.

Violating the new law could result in a class E felony, which comes with a prison sentence of up to four years.
