New Yorkers are looking for different ways to beat the heat and humidity.

Bronx residents were all across Van Cortlandt Park. Sunscreen is your best friend during these hot and sunny days, and some residents were seen using umbrellas to protect themselves from the sunrays.

"We came out to the park around 3:30, we've been in the shade," said Bronx resident Cecily Ginel, who brought her daughter to play in the sprinkler to stay cool in the July heat.

Temperatures are expected to hover around 90 degrees through Thursday, and experts recommend staying hydrated and staying in air-conditioned areas when possible.

Other ways to stay cool is to visit the city's many public pools open from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Click here for locations.
