17h agoFuneral arrangements were announced for a Newark imam who was fatally shot outside of his mosque Wednesday morning.
Family, friends and community members will gather at the Nia Masjid and Community Center on Saturday morning to honor the life of Hassan Sharif.
A post on the mosque’s Facebook page states Sharif will be buried at the Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover.
An online fundraiser has also been set up to cover funeral expenses and support Sharif’s family. The fundraiser has already raised more than $140,000.
