Residents on Heath Avenue reached out to News 12 back in June regarding a sinkhole that raised safety concerns for drivers and the community.

The following day, the city was on site making repairs, but construction issues in the area persist.

Residents say the ongoing construction is blocking valuable parking spots for the neighborhood.

News 12 learned the ongoing construction is unrelated to the sinkhole, but rather gas work being done on the block.

Con Edison is permitted to work on the site until Sept. 29.
