New York City wants to help save lives with fire prevention resources, and says some neighborhoods in the borough are at greater risk than others.
The FDNY released a community risk assessment outlining each community board's readiness and vulnerability to fires. Within that report, there are 100 city blocks relabeled the most at risk — including Bed-Stuy.
Fire officials are prioritizing efforts in these at-risk areas. They say outreach will focus on the importance on smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and fire escape plans.
