NYC wraps up project preventing Staten Island flooding
Just one day after the 11-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, New York City has finished a project that will prevent flooding in Staten Island.
A total of 44 New Yorkers died in that storm, with 24 of the casualties on Staten Island.
The Blue Belt on Staten Island is a drainage system that takes care of runoff water that would typically flood city streets and sidewalks, covering 94 acres of land.
