A NYCHA employee is recovering in the hospital after being caught in the crossfire in a shootout near the Red Hook Houses Thursday.

Police say they believe he was not the intended target, and they now have two suspects they believe were involved in custody.

One of the suspects is a 52-year-old man, who was also shot and who police say is a repeat offender. He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The other suspect is still on the loose.
