NYPD: 1 woman killed, another injured in Melrose double stabbing

A double stabbing in Melrose left one woman dead and another injured following a dispute with an unknown person, the NYPD says.
Police have identified that woman who died as 57-year-old Rosemary Tapia Bautista.
Police say the stabbings happened inside the apartment building at 3207 Park Ave. just before 7 a.m.
The 57-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times in the chest and pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. The 40-year-old victim is in stable condition.
Authorities say the victims were in a verbal dispute with an unknown individual who fled the scene on foot.
Police sources told News 12 that the ex-boyfriend of the 40-year-old woman stabbed both women. They say no arrests have been made yet.
