NYPD: 18-year-old dead, 19-year-old injured in overnight Fordham Heights shooting

This comes as two separate Fourth of July shootings in the Bronx sent six men to the hospital.

Police say an 18-year-old man is dead and a 19-year-old man has been hospitalized following an early Wednesday morning shooting in Fordham Heights.
According to the NYPD, shots rang out at around 2 a.m. at 2249 Morris Ave. Police responded to the area and found the 18-year-old, identified as Moise Figueroa, with a gunshot wound to the leg and the 19-year-old victim shot in the hip.
Surveillance video shows a white vehicle driving up and stopping along Morris Avenue. Seconds later, someone jumps out the passenger seat and opens fire in both directions, ultimately striking and knocking down one of the victims.
The 18-year-old did not survive his injury, police say. The second victim is in stable condition at SBH Health System.
Police arrested two people in connection to the shooting: Ariel Velasquez, 19, and Ramon Santos, 28. Both men face several charges including murder and attempted murder.
