NYPD: 6 men injured in 2 separate shootings in the Bronx on Monday

It was a bloody Fourth of July after two shootings in the Bronx shook up residents in the borough.

The NYPD says that six men were hurt on Monday in two separate shootings. One happened Monday morning, while the other Monday night.

Bronx residents say that they thought they would be spending the holiday with family but will now be watching their backs.

The NYPD says that six men were hurt on Monday in two separate shootings. The first shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. Monday in Morrisania. Officials say a 28-year-old and a 34-year-old were shot multiple times. They were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition. A 30-year-old was also struck in his arms and legs and is expected to be OK.

The NYPD says later that night more shots were fired around 8 p.m. in the Concourse Village section of the borough. A 24-year-old and a 44-year-old were shot in the legs. Another 44-year-old man was struck in the buttocks. All three were taken to Lincoln Hospital and are expected to recover.

No arrests have been made.

Police are asking members of the public to contact them if they have any information about these shootings.
