Officers responded to a call about gunshots being fired around 10:25 p.m. near East 146th Street.
Authorities say they found an unconscious 27-year-old man with two gunshot wounds to his chest.
The man was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made as the investigation remains ongoing.
