Authorities say a man was stabbed to death following an argument over a parking dispute in Morris Heights.
The NYPD has identified the victim as Dominic Aguilera, 19. Police say Aguilera was stabbed in the chest before 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the corner of Featherbed Lane and Inwood Avenue.
Police tell News 12 that they currently have a person of interest in custody at this time. They have not confirmed if it is the suspect they are searching for and no charges have been made.
A clerk at a nearby bodega where Aguilera ran for help before dying shares those final moments of his life.
"The kid came in bleeding a lot," said the clerk. "I called 911, we held the blood, and I think he passed right there."
Police say Aguilera lived with his family just steps away from where he was killed in an apartment building at 37 Featherbed Lane.
Aguilera's family members say a neighbor came to their door, demanding they move their car because it was blocking his - which Aguilera went to do. That's when police say the altercation took place and turned violent.
"He was a beautiful person, never looking for no problems," said one of Aguilera's relatives.
Aguilera was pronounced dead at the hospital. The suspect left the scene in a dark-colored sedan.
