NYPD installs 10 cameras in confines of 45th Precinct
City officials say 10 cameras in City Island and other parts of the borough have been installed to help deter and solve crimes in the area.
Each of the cameras in the confines of the 45th Precinct cost $100,000.
The NYPD used statistics along with community input to determine where the cameras would go.
City leaders say they can read license plates, makes and models of cars and can obtain clear images of people walking within their range.
