July 4th fireworks gleamed throughout New York City, but some people were not content just be to spectators.
Despite NYPD's efforts to clean the streets of illegal fireworks, injuries were still a problem this weekend. Police tell News 12 they are looking into a case of a person in Canarsie being injured by illegal fireworks, but there is no additional information.
NYPD says that they confiscated $54,000 worth of illegal fireworks by Saturday night on July 3.
They also say that in June and early July, investigators made 22 fireworks-related arrests, with nearly half of those arrests being people who live in Brooklyn.
