NYPD: Man caught on camera stealing $1,000 from convenience store register in Concourse Village

Police are searching for a man caught on camera stealing cash from a Concourse Village convenience store.
The incident happened last week inside the discount convenience store at 876 Gerard Ave.
The man was caught on camera hopping over the counter, then frantically stuffing handfuls of dollar bills into of his pockets. Police say he took around $1,000 in cash from the register before he ran off.
Nobody was at the store when the burglar struck, police say.
NYPD data shows there's been 200 burglaries in the Bronx in the last month.
