Residents in a NYCHA neighborhood are still on edge following a violent encounter late Saturday night.
Police tell News 12 that just before 10:30 pm, they responded to a call at 1711 Randall Ave., just outside of the NYCHA Soundview housing complex. Police say that they found a 47-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the groin and a slash wound to the left hand. An 18-year-old had a slash wound to the head.
According to police, both men were removed from the scene and taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.

Trails of blood splatter remained on the walkway on Easter Sunday. While some residents are still in shock, others are not surprised by the event.
"I shouldn't have a nonchalant demeanor about it, but because it's so reoccurring, you don't take it as serious as you should," says Caroline. "You just hope to God it ain't your turn."
Police have not yet released any information about suspects.
