A 50-year-old man was slashed in the face Friday night at the York Street subway station in Dumbo, according to police.
Authorities say the attack began just after 10 p.m. as the victim was walking along the subway platform.
The suspect allegedly punched him and then slashed the left side of his face before fleeing the scene.
The victim was hospitalized in stable condition. No arrests have been made yet.
News 12 spoke to commuters on Saturday who say this is supposed to be a cheerful time not a violent one.
“I didn’t think something like that would happen in this neighborhood it’s usually really quiet after six. Thats unfortunate but that’s the reality in this city, there’s always going to be crime," said a commuter.
