NYPD officers shot a man who stabbed a Queens church security guard, according to police.

Investigators say that the man stabbed the church security guard just before 4 p.m. Police say the same suspect waved his knife at officers and was then shot and brought to a local hospital.

Police recovered the knife used in the incident at the scene.
