Police say the pedestrian appears to have been hit while in the crosswalk. The driver did not stop, according to police.
The area around Coney Island Avenue and Canton Avenue has been blocked off.
No arrests have been made at this time. There is currently no information on the vehicle responsible for striking the pedestrian.
