Police say officers found a human torso Tuesday while responding to a wellness check on at 979 Summit Ave.
This marks the second time that a dead body has been found in the area during an NYPD wellness check. Last May, a 3-month-old was found dead alongside the Major Deegan Expressway.
A woman who lives across the street told News 12 off-camera that her building's superintendent is also the superintendent of the building where the body was found. That superintendent declined to comment when approached by News 12.
No arrests have been made at this time.
