The baby was found wrapped in blankets inside of a tote bag on the doorsteps of 1102 Reverend James Polite Ave. The owner of the home told News 12 Sunday that he found the infant on his doorstep alive and naked - he also says the baby may only be a few days old.

Police tell News 12 the child was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. At this time no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
Under New York State’s Abandoned Infant Protection Act, a parent may surrender their unwanted baby up to 30 days without being charged -- if the child is dropped off safely, like at a hospital, police or fire station.
