Police are searching for the person or people responsible for a deadly shooting in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens Wednesday night.

Police say a total of six people were shot, including one fatally, around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Nostrand Avenue and Hawthorne Street.

News 12 is told the victim who died was a 23-year-old man who was shot in the chest. He has not yet been identified.

A woman and four other men were also shot. Police believe they are all in their late 20s. News 12 is told all of the surviving victims are in stable condition.

Police say a white sedan drove down the block with at least 3 men inside. They say all of them, including the driver, are believed to have been firing shots at a group on the street. Police believe the incident is gang related. 

The NYPD says the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.
