The NYPD is asking for the public’s help to find a homicide suspect linked to the death of a 33-year-old over the summer in the Highbridge section of the Bronx.
Police were called to the scene at 1165 Shakespeare Ave. after residents reported that a man was “unconscious and unresponsive” in the fifth-floor hallway of their apartment building.
The initial police report said that Jermaine Jones, 33, was found with a “laceration under his chin” and taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.
Police have not yet detailed how Jones died. They are searching for Amir Dickson who was named as a suspect in his death.
Julissa Rodriguez, a hair salon owner and Highbridge resident, recalled the harrowing day.
"I can see through the window of my business, the ambulance came to pick up a young guy," says Rodriguez. "I feel too bad because the guy was very young.
