yesterdayA man accused of nearly shooting a woman in the head is wanted for attempted murder, according to police.
Authorities say the man approached the victim on West 183rd Street in University Heights and pointed a gun to the back of her head.
He pulled the trigger, but the bullet missed. He then fled the scene on foot.
Police say the woman fell and hit her head. She was hospitalized and is expected to be OK.
Anyone with information about the shooter is urged to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
