With students headed back to the classroom, the NYPD is finishing up its Summer Youth Employment program with more participants than ever before. 

The program employs youth in a wide range of areas within the NYPD, from patrol boroughs to photo units. 

Program supervisors say the program shows young people that law enforcement isn’t the only thing that police do. 

Officers say they hope programs like these can better the relationship between law enforcement and young New Yorkers.
