An off-duty corrections officer was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly choking and beating his 9-year-old son.
Police say 42-year-old Mohammed Alam was charged with strangulation, endangering the welfare of a child, assault and harassment.
Authorities say the incident occurred during a dispute between Alam and his son.
