An alleged marijuana grow house was discovered in Cypress Hills when fire crews raced to the scene to battle a two-alarm fire in the two-story building.

Crews battled the flames Saturday at 3232 Fulton St. News 12 cameras were rolling as authorities made multiple trips in ant out, carrying bags of evidence from the top floor. News 12 is told that at least 70 marijuana plants were removed.

Through the blown-out windows, lighting equipment was visible, apparently used to grow the marijuana plants inside. Authorities say lights, equipment and "unknown chemicals" were found in the building's second floor.

The fire left behind significant damage on both of the building's floors.

Neighbors tell News 12 that their block always had a strong smell of marijuana, but they didn't suspect that there was a grow house next door.

So far no arrests have been made.

An electrical overload is being eyed as a possible cause of the fire.
