New Yorkers continued to sweat through the summer scorcher Tuesday, even still dining outdoors in the heat.
News 12’s Melissa Rose Cooper spoke with customers outside Piazza Restaurant in Belmont. The restaurant has only been open for a couple of weeks but it’s already seeing plenty of customers.
It’s now the fourth day New Yorkers are dealing with temperatures over 90 degrees.
It’s the kind of weather a lot of people may consider unbearable but while many looked for ways to cool off, some people say taking advantage of outdoor dining now is a great way to take a break and support businesses in the community.
“I love this. I wish they had thought about this summer's ago. I understand it’s because of COVID, but it’s nice to be outside. And you probably get to see people in the community you don’t get to see often,” said customer Kennedy Desire.
