Restaurants citywide were prepared for the first weekend of outdoor dining this weekend, even if the weather didn’t want to cooperate.
Businesses prepared safe outdoor dining spaces along the Bronx's Arthur Avenue. It is part of the city's “Open Restaurants Program,” which allows eateries to reopen on sidewalks, curb lanes, and plazas with social distancing measures in place.
Regina Delfino, of Mario's Restaurant, says she can't control the weather, but she can control her plan of action.
"This morning they were like, 'Oh should we open?' and I was like, 'Yes, we are opening. Put up the tents put out the tables we are opening, I'm not closing another day!'" Delfino says.
