Many students and parents say they faced problems while logging in and using the technology to access remote lessons.

Tajh Sutton, a mother of two, says she is frustrated after facing difficulties trying to help her kids with their remote school learning.

"So, today's class, we missed it. Luckily, I have…a second grade teacher that just far has been really sweet and accommodating and flexible, but I know there are parents out there who are not receiving that kind of patience and flexibility," she says. "The fact that it is day one and all these things are happening…it begs the question, 'Why isn't leadership listening to families and educators with feet on the ground’ who are best equipped to tell them, ‘Hey, this is what we need, and this is what will make the school year successful?'"

The Department of Education tweeted Monday that its login page was down for 10 minutes around 9 a.m. It said that this issue may have affected Zoom and other platforms for remote learning.

The department says families can always submit a ticket through its website to report any technical difficulties.
