For the first time in over 10 years, the PATH fare is increasing. Riders now must pay 25-cents more, bringing a one-way fare to $3. Multi-trip fares will also be adjusted.
The increase is because of an action put forward in 2019 by PATH officials, an automatic inflation-based fare adjustment was triggered and went into effect on Sunday.

Officials approved a $9.4 billion 2025 budget. Part of that plan includes a 2-year initiative to overhaul the PATH commuter rail’s tracks, stations and signals. Funds will be used to make improvements to the Hoboken Station.
Hoboken Station will be closed from 11:59 p.m. Thursday Jan. 30 until 5 a.m. Tuesday Feb. 25 for track and station upgrades.

Around summer of this year, PATH plans to have a new reduced fare program for riders with qualifying disabilities. Passengers who qualify will pay the same as a senior citizen which is $1.50.
