A new 49,000-square-foot Pathmark Supermarket is opening in East Flatbush next week.
The grocery store has had a turbulent history over the last few years while under the retailer A&P. After 47 years, the chain closed in 2015 when A&P shut down for good.
The store is now reopening as part of Allegiance Retail Services, and many in the area say they are thankful to have the grocery store they grew up with back.
Store officials say the opening of this store is creating about 150 new jobs, with most of those jobs going to local residents.
The store will be open to shoppers on April 12, according to officials.
