An action plan was announced Friday that aims to clean up a McDonald's restaurant in Tremont that is known as a hotbed for drug sales.
A new coalition has come up with a seven-point plan to make the area drug-free.
The plan is a collaborative effort focused on targeted drug-related issues. It aims to not only address the sale of heroin and cocaine at the fast food joint, but also opioid use in Tremont Park. It also includes a needle cleanup iniative to add more syringe retrieval kiosks.
The East Tremont Avenue McDonald's is currently under construction. When it reopens, there will be a NYPD detail and surveillance cameras that can be remotely accessed and monitored by police.
