26ds agoNews 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Sam Augeri says a high wind watch and coastal flood warning will be in effect for Wednesday.
A coastal storm will continue to impact the tri-state through Thursday morning. Rounds of heavy rain and high winds will likely create unfavorable or hazardous conditions during daytime hours, along with flooding concerns across the region. Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Julian Seawright gives a quick breakdown on the latest storm.
HEADLINES:
- High Wind Watch in effect Wednesday morning through Wednesday night for Easterly winds 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 55 mph. The strongest winds will arrive late Wednesday afternoon into the evening.
- Coastal Flood Warning 2 p.m. Wednesday to Noon Thursday with tides 2 to 3' above normal with shoreline flooding likely. Tides on the North Shore will be 1 to 1.5' above normal. Beach erosion expected with waves 6 to 12 feet. Best time for flooding is Wednesday late afternoon along the South Shore
- Periods of rain continue through Wednesday with the chance of thunderstorms between 4 and 8 p.m. Wednesday. Showers become less numerous Wednesday night into Thursday.
- Breezy and colder Thursday with better weather through the weekend and into next week
OVERNIGHT: Cloudy and breezy with periods of rain. Lows near 41 with east winds 15 to 25 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Cloudy and windy with periods of rain. Chance for heavy showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday afternoon. Highs near 46 degrees with east winds 20 to 40 mph gusting up to 50. Cloudy and windy at night with scattered showers. Lows near 43. East northeast winds 20 to 40 mph gusting to 50.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy and breezy with scattered rain showers likely. Highs near 47. Lows near 35.
FRIDAY: Partly sunny. Highs near 50. Lows near 3.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy and cool . Highs near 51. Lows near 38.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and nice. Highs near 55. Lows near 38.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny with increasing clouds late in the day. Highs near 58. Lows near 42
