Police say a teenage boy has died and another is in critical condition after two separate shootings just blocks away from each other in East New York Tuesday night.
Police say a 20-year-old man was shot in the head near Livonia Avenue and Bradford Street and was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
They say it happened around 7 p.m.
Police say they are unsure if the 20-year-old was the intended target. Just down the road, on the corner of Miller Avenue and Pitkin Avenue, police say a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed.
They say this happened at around 1:30 p.m. Police say he was on the street corner with friends when someone approached them--opening fire and shooting the 16-year-old in the stomach.
Police say the boy’s friend then pulled out a weapon and started firing and the crossfire struck the teen in the head.
Police say no arrests have been made at this time, for either of the shootings. They say they do not know if the shootings were related at this time.
