The superintendent of South Huntington Schools says a Sunday night threat to Stimson Middle School was deemed noncredible by Suffolk police.
Vito D'Elia told parents in a letter Monday morning that an individual had made a threat of violence to two students at the Huntington Station school on social media. It was reported to police Sunday night.
Officers were present during drop-off at Stimson Middle School out of an abundance of caution, according to Suffolk police. The district said it had an added layer of security around their schools on Monday, too.
