Police say a body was found on the beach at Coney Island late Saturday night.
First responders flooded the beach at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
The medical examiner hasn’t confirmed the identity of the body yet, but it was in the same area where a 15-year-old boy who politicians say lived in a Bronx shelter disappeared into the water Thursday.
City Council Member Ari Kagan tweeted on Saturday that police told him the 15-year-old is who they found.
Council Member Justin Brannan also tweeted his condolences to the family.
Another teen was also pulled into the water Thursday, but people in the area were able to help him to safety.
On Friday, a 19-year-old swimmer who went missing in the water at Jacob Riis Park Beach was found dead.
The city Parks Department says there were red flags up at the time, meaning it was a no-swim zone with no lifeguards on duty.
