Police, FDNY monitor looting, fire on Fordham Road
The NYPD and the FDNY were on scene at Fordham Road as protesters continued to take to the streets in solidarity with George Floyd, a black unarmed man who was killed by a white police officer during an arrest.
Fires were lit and looting took place Monday night. Multiple stores were also broken into.
Multiple fires on the ground were made from garbage, and police were seen putting them out with fire extinguishers.
Police tell News 12 they had objects being thrown at them.
This comes after Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a curfew for New York City that takes effect Monday night at 11 p.m.
