A Hicksville teenager is dead, and his cousins are in critical condition following a crash on the Long Island Expressway Monday evening, police say.
Police say a Honda slammed into an SUV in the eastbound lanes near exit 49 in Melville.
They say both vehicles went off the road into a wooded area.
Josue Melendez, 19, was killed and his cousins 14-year-old Kevin Florez and 18-year-old Cristian Florez were critically hurt.
Both drivers were also hospitalized.
