Students at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School received a special treat Friday.
Police officers did all the cooking, making pancakes for the students at the school’s first Pancakes with the Police event.
Eighth-graders got the chance to get their hands dirty with the officers as they made pancakes for a kindergarten class.
Principal Valerie Savino says the school has a great relationship with their local precinct and these officers really try to interactive with kids in the neighborhood.
They recently had a basketball tournament in efforts to continue to let students know they can rely on police for help.
The principal says the next event might be a kickball tournament against the officers.
