Police are searching for a man wanted for raping a woman in a Crown Heights apartment building.

They say the incident happened three weeks ago inside an elevator maintenance room in the building on Montgomery Street.

Police say the victim is a 23-year-old woman who was invited inside the building by the suspect. Once she was inside, the suspect threatened her with a knife before raping her.

The suspect is described as 5’10” tall and around 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue hooded sweatshirt.

Police are hoping someone can help them identify the man. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
