Multiple men posed as exterminators before forcing their way into an 82-year-old Bronx man's home and robbing him, police say.
The incident happened on Nov. 26, inside the man's home near Buhre and Mahan avenues around 6:30 a.m.
Investigators say the suspects knocked on the 82-year-old's door and identified themselves as exterminators before forcing their way inside.
One of the suspects grabbed the man by the throat while the other men ransacked the home in search of cash, according to police.
Police say they got away with $3,600. The 82-year-old man was transported to Albert Einstein Hospital for pain in his throat.
Police have released surveillance images of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
