A Newtown woman is accused of risk of injury to a child and reckless endangerment for reportedly holding the child over the edge of a bridge on I-84, police say.
Micheale Brewer, 33, of Newtown, was arrested with reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a child Wednesday.
Newtown and State Police responded to the Tunnel Road overpass of I-84 for a report of a person holding a child over the edge of the bridge.
Officials say state police shut traffic down on the highway, and Newtown officers located Brewer who was pulling a wagon containing a juvenile in the area of the bridge.
After an investigation, Brewer was placed under arrest for reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a child.
The child was not injured and was released to the custody of a family member.
