Police: Off-duty officer stabbed on the back of the head at Union Square station

News 12 is told that before the stabbing, the officer was walking to the turnstile and the suspect said something like, "Why are you looking at me?" before allegedly attacking him.

Police say an off-duty officer was stabbed on the back of the head with an unknown object on Tuesday.
Police say it happened around noon near the N/R/Q turnstile at Union Square. 
News 12 is told that before the stabbing, the officer was walking to the turnstile and the suspect said something like, "Why are you looking at me?" before allegedly attacking him.
The suspect has not been identified at this time, but police say the person was arrested. 
Police say charges are pending.
