Police: Suspects wanted in series of electric bike robberies

Police say they are searching for suspects who have been targeting electric bikes and their drivers in Fordham Manor.

Police say they are searching for suspects who have been targeting electric bikes and their drivers in Fordham Manor.
Authorities say the pattern began when two suspects pushed a deliveryman off his electric bike and stole it on Jerome Avenue and East 196th Street on the night of March 12.
They say a similar robbery took place less than a mile away on University Avenue, and again the next night.
Police say a total of nine electric bike robberies have been reported within the confines of the 44th, 52nd and 46th precincts.
 
Authorities released a video of an attack that occurred on April 23 near Grand Concourse and East 174th Street. In it, a motorcycle pulls up alongside a deliveryman on an electric bike. In this case, police say the suspects were armed with a knife.
No injuries have been reported. The suspects are said to be in their early 20s.
Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the supsects to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
