For the second time since the start of the 2021-2022 school year, a slashing has occurred outside Harry S. Truman High School in Co-op City.
Following the incident, staff members of Truman High School stayed to try and clean up the scene so that students weren’t forced to face the blood that was on the sidewalk as a result of this slashing.
One boy and one girl, both around 15 years old, suffered injuries. The girl was slashed in her right arm, and the boy was slashed in the neck and face. Both were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and are currently in stable condition.
Police inform News 12 that there are currently no arrests in the case, and the Department of Education says they plan on adding additional safety measures to the school.
