Police say a woman was arrested for a robbery in Bethpage Friday morning.

Detectives say 31-year-old Lexus Hughes, of Queens, entered a 7-Eleven on Stewart Avenue after 10:15 a.m.

They say the employee there recognized Hughes, who had been involved with prior shoplifting incidents at the store.

Police say that's when he approached her and she became combative.

They say she threatened the employee with a box cutter, grabbed some merchandise and then ran away.

After an investigation, Hughes was caught and placed under arrest.

She is expected to be arraigned Saturday.
