Police are investigating after a stabbing occurred in Mott Haven Monday afternoon.
Authorities say a woman was stabbed in the stomach at a bodega on St. Ann's Avenue around 4 p.m. Monday. The scene remained active for several hours after, with police going in and out of the store and reviewing surveillance video.
Police say they are looking for a suspect in his 40s with salt-and-pepper-colored hair who was last seen wearing a plaid shirt and black shoes. They add that the suspect fled down 137th Street toward Cypress Avenue.
The victim was brought to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln with what are described as serious injuries.
