Service on a portion of New Jersey Transit’s Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will be suspended into Friday due to downed wires near Exchange Place in Jersey City.
NJ Transit says that the service is suspended in both directions between Harsimus Cove and Liberty State Park due to the repairs.
The agency says the disruption was caused when a truck damaged overhead wires near Exchange Place. Hundreds of customers were stuck taking Uber, taxis or the NJ Transit bus to get where they had to go. PATH also cross-honored tickets for a time.
NJ Transit first posted about this issue online around 3 p.m. It continued to cause issues late into the night.
The latest update urges customers to check
